General Review
It was Ravi Vasant's birthday and we all decided to visit "Bukhara", a big restaurant near Osterley. Initially we decided to go to an Arabic restaurant in baker street but we couldn't manage to go there as it was a weekend, Sunday to be precise, and there were tube disruptions because of weekend planned engineering works on the underground. We realised.later that not being able to to to the Arabic restaurant was something good that happened to as we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of "Bukhara". It is a big restaurant and I think is.somehow.related to Osterley Park Hotel. My wife told us that it is a Nepalese restaurant but after looking at the interiors, I thought it looked more like an Arabic restaurant than a Nepalese one. More over the menu was crowded with Indian dishes mostly. The interiors were nice and pleasant and if you look at the pics you would.agree to me. That it looked like an.Arabic restaurant. There is a big dining hall when you enter the restaurant and at the end in front of the bar there is a circularly arranged seating table. We sat there as it was nice, big and private. There was a small hall and another big dining hall adjacent to the main hall. We ordered for 3 starters. As far as I remember, 2 were chilly chicken and one was chicken tikka. Both the starters were delicious. They offered us free pappads ( pappqdums) with green chutney. The quantity of this complementary dish was also quite a lot for the 6 of us. In the main course we ordered 6 nans 2 chicken curry dishes and a lamb curry dish and cokes . I don't quite remember their exact names. The quantity was more than enough. Everybody liked the food. But I thought that the starters were a little better than the main course curries. After sometime.when the chef came in the dining hall my wife asked.him.if the restaurant was Nepalese, and he said that was a mixture of Indian, Arabic etc..The waiter was also pleasant. The toilets are.outside the restaurant. The rates are not.very high. I have added the pictures of the menu. Have a look and I would recommend to visit it, at least once.
